SELLING CHECKLIST

What documents do I need to sell a motorbike?

Having the right information ready can make a motorbike sale much smoother. Not every motorcycle comes with the same paperwork, so tell us what you have and what is missing.

V5C registration document

The V5C is one of the most useful documents to have available. Our valuation form asks whether you have it, and it can help with the administration if a purchase goes ahead.

Service and maintenance history

Service books, invoices and maintenance records can help show how the motorcycle has been looked after. If you only have part of the history, say that rather than describing it as complete.

Keys and security items

Tell us how many keys are available and whether the bike comes with any important security keys, key cards, alarm fobs or similar items.

Finance information

If there is outstanding finance, disclose it during the valuation. An up-to-date settlement figure or finance evidence may be needed if an offer progresses.

Identification and purchase details

Before a completed purchase, we may need appropriate identification and payment information through the secure process provided to the seller. We will request these at the relevant stage rather than asking you to send sensitive information in an ordinary message.

Photos of the motorcycle

Photos are not paperwork, but they are one of the most useful parts of an online valuation. Clear images of the bike, clocks and any damage help the buyer assess it before collection.
